So I did indeed see CLOVERFIELD without having anything ruined for me. (I promise I won’t spoil anything for you if you keep reading.) I loved it. It was exactly what I wanted it to be—a good monster movie with a good story. Didn’t change the sub-genre forever, just put a slightly different spin on it.
I’m really glad that I was able to shield myself from knowing too much about it. One of my friends said that he could tell what was going to happen in some spots because of things he pieced together from the commercials and other sources. Me? I was largely surprised by what I was watching so I was able to sit back and enjoy.
Now all I have to do is wait two weeks for the Hottie and the Nottie. (Jus’ kiddin’).
