Conflicted
It’s a shame that on a historic night such as this, when the direction of the country is taking a profound step forward that the direction of the country is also taking a step backward. I am deeply saddened that the country isn’t as open-minded as many of us wished it would be. I hope this means that we don’t stop trying to get same-sex marriage back on the ballots. I hope that someday soon my kids will have a historic night like this of their own--when we, as a country, wake up and realize that discrimination is wrong.

Well put. I'd like to feel more celebratory about the presidential win but it's tough in light of Prop 8. It's hard to imagine that many people keep missing the point.
