I can't remember my login for Offsprung, so I'll comment here.
3D movies make me sick (like motion sick; I can't even play FPS), so I'll be glad if they mess them up enough that audiences complain and they stop making them altogether.
The funny thing about 3D, when done right, is that it makes me really sad that I won't see it in 3D again ... until I have my 3D TV in 2017 (at the pace I buy consumer electronics). I actively mourned the fact that I didn't get to see A Christmas Carol and Tangled a second time on the big screen in 3D. Then again, this is a decidedly better problem to have, wanting to see more 3D than you can, then being inundated with the low-quality afterthoughts you write about here.

SciFi...I don't think you're in luck there. 3D is here to stay. Good news is, aside from a few flicks, you're not missing much.

I guess 3D TV is inevitable. Although I am intrigued, there isn't enough stuff out there yet that's 3D worthy to make the plunge just yet.
That an until they make 3D TVs with passive 3D technology--meaning you don't have to use the electronic glasses.
