Good News/Bad News Hollywood Style

The duality of life is unavoidable. Good cannot exist without bad. News from today’s Variety demonstrates that.

The Good:

Simpsons + Arrested Development + Knuffle Bunny = a show I will definitely watch.

Let me elaborate…Bill Oakely and Josh Weinstein were the showrunners (head writers) on “The Simpsons” during it’s golden age. They are going to be running a new animated show being produced by Mitch Hurwitz, the guy who created “Arrested Development.” Mo Willems, author of some of the best kids’ books out there (including Knuffle Bunny and the Pigeon books) is going to animate it. Suh-weet.

Now the Bad:

My favorite filmmakers are at it again. Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the auteurs behind the classics MEET THE SPARTANS, DATE MOVIE and EPIC MOVIE, have somehow conned people into giving them money to make another movie.

Here’s the weird thing. The article says it starts shooting today and is set to come out late August. So they’re giving themselves plenty of time to delicately craft the film.

Plus, it stars Camren Electra and Kim Kardashian.
